The drama is 100% bullshit.
The hype may be 100% bullshit.
I hope you didn’t get sucked into it. It isn’t worth the time or effort. Bitcoin is a permissionless network – anyone can join, leave and rejoin whenever (or if ever) they wish.
It doesn’t need someone sitting around a campfire singing songs about it.
It doesn’t need the blessing of powerful folks wearing suits.
All it needs is computational power, a desire to maintain it, people to run the software, individuals to transact with it, and a down to earth discussion about hard money.
The rest is all fluff.
